Pequannock River

The Pequannock River in Butler. Butler has several small rivers that all meet up with the Pequannock, which runs along the Hamburg Turnpike (Main St, Bloomingdale) and meets up with the Wanaque river, where it becomes the Pompton River.

This section of the river is accessible via Yapewi Park on Arch Street. Not much of a park, merely access to the river. Though it is a nice place to view the river and it meets an old spillway at the upstream end. Some relic of Butler's industrial past no doubt.

The stream that actually goes through downtown, through the park, is Stone House Brook (aka Stony Brook) which is the same stream that feeds the Stony Brook pool. It meets the Pequannock at the Bloomingdale border.
