Birds

A Tufted Titmouse. Extreme crop. 70-200 f/2.8L at 200mm f/4

I've had a bird feeder set up in my mother's yard for a while now, but it is tough to get close enough to birds without scaring them away. My brother has this... 'fort', for lack of a better description, built in the backyard. It's pieced together of mostly scrap wood, pallets, fence pieces, etc. It's well built for what it is. So I was down in the backyard the other day and it dawned on me... this would make an awesome wildlife blind!

So I ordered a couple pieces of camouflage material, and made some minor modifications to it to better suit my needs. It's a work in progress, but it is functional as of today! I spent the morning cleaning it out, de-spidering, and cleaning up a bit of the yard. I'm hoping to set up an outdoor wildlife studio of sorts. We'll see how it goes.

For now I set the feeder up outside the 'finished' side of the blind. I also gathered up a bunch of wild raspberry plants and replanted them in a grove. Hopefully they will fill in with time and provide a great backdrop.

I only got 1 decent shot today of a Tufted Titmouse. But I also saw a Nuthatch and a female Cardinal. There's a large variety of birds around, and some less seen species as well. Hopefully there will be many more bird pics to come.
